Frustration
Frustration is when you wake up in the morning, build
a fire in the fireplace and sit with a cup of coffee, just as you are inspired with
a tremendous article. You begin typing on your laptop and it all comes flowing out
of you as though the Lord is doing the work and then the unthinkable happens. The
computer freezes up.
You sit back and wait, hoping. You mumble things like,"No.
Don't let this happen". You pray and command the computer to stop what its doing.
You finally give up and shut down the computer, hoping that you will retain those
lines in your head.
Just then your daughter gets up and starts talking to
you, while the computer takes its sweet time getting up again. Your grandson wakes
up and turns on his favorite cartoons and you're still trying to hang on to those
thoughts, long enough to get them typed out once again.
Finally the computer
is ready and you bail on the program you were using, grab the notepad and start typing,
only to realize it's all wrong. Delete, delete, delete. "No! That wasn't it."
You
realize that the noise around you is deafening your thoughts and...it's gone. Gone!
Oh sure, you still have the idea in your head but that inspired moment is over and
you've lost it.
You save what you've written so far and start a new file and
type out what you've just now read.
Oh, woe on the writer that must grab those
silent moments.
