Making Money off of Coupons by Judy Sims Yes. It can be done. I've witnessed it. My daughter is a marvel. She watches coupons, like a hawk and works out deals that leave me gaping. Just recently she printed a buy one get one free coupon from the website of the Glade Lightshow Scented Oil plugin. She also received in the mail, a $5 off coupon for the same product, with a coupon for a free refill. All this was requested from the website. She took the coupons to Walgreens, knowing they would let her combine the coupons. The product price was $12.99 with the $5 off coupon, it was $7.99. Plus her buy one get one free coupon gained her another free . So she put out $7.99 for 2 products priced at $12.99, profiting her $17.99 in product. Then she sent in a rebate form she found in the newspaper, rebating her $12.99 on the one she paid for ($7.99). She paid out $7.99 and is receiving a rebate of $12.99 profiting her $5 in the pocket plus 2 of the Glade Lightshow plug-ins and one free refill. Now that's what I call a good transaction. Many times, I've watched that girl take a coupon into the store, using it on products on sale and then sending in rebate forms, putting money back into her pocket. Here's what she does on a weekly basis. She carefully scans the Sunday paper for drugstore and grocery store ads, matches them up with coupons she already has and combines this with the rebate magazines that some of the stores put out on a monthly basis. She also goes to the websites of her favorite stores and requests any future promotions, which she then combines with her coupons and weekly sales. By doing her math and searching out coupons, savings offers and rebates, she amazes me at every turn while she pockets the cash. Frankly, I still don't have the hang of it or just too busy to bother but it seems to me a person could hold down on the monthly budget just by developing these habits. She sees it like some game and truly enjoys winning. On the back of most baby products and most prepared foods, you'll find an 800 phone number. Call that number and ask about the newest promo's. Almost 100% of the time, you will receive coupons and rebate forms in the mail. Also, be sure to visit the website's of your favorite brands and check for promo's and coupons you can print out. There is an amazing wealth of savings just waiting for the person willing to put in a little time. Return to
